In 1997, Rabbani released their self-titled debut album. They have since released eight more albums. They incorporate modern music into their nasyid songs, instead of making music that is merely dominated by the sound of percussion instruments. They have succeeded in creating an interesting fusion of contemporary nasyid music, appealing to a larger (and younger) audience.
Recently, we are shocked by the death of team leader, Ustaz Asri when making a recording with the RTM. Asri Rabbani a key group in which he is the main vocalist. Rabbani is still moving even without the main backbone to fight for Islamic preaching through song.
